As the festive season approaches, I’ve been reflecting on some of the incredible independent businesses I’ve worked with this year. Supporting local and independent brands has always been at the heart of what I do as a Business Photographer, and it’s inspired my Christmas gift guide for 2025. If you’re looking for unique, thoughtful gifts with a personal touch, here are my top picks straight from my amazing clients.
Festive Tipples & Treats
No Christmas is complete without a little indulgence, and this year, I’m loving a mix of cocktails, spirits, and delicious cheese. From pre-made cocktail cans from Bar Buoy, to a beautifully packaged vodka gift set that’s perfect for someone special from Tors Vodka, and cheese from the Cornish Cheese Co, these foodie treats are a guaranteed hit. And for gin lovers, a bottle of Exeter Gin adds that local, artisanal touch to the celebrations!

Cards, Calendars & Art
There’s something magical about giving a gift that sparks creativity – and I happen to work with a lot of creatives and artists, making this section a no brainer. I’ve been inspired by clients creating bespoke Christmas cards, like Ella from Ella’s Devon, and unique artist books this year – like the below from Nia Ski. Pair them with a 2026 calendar from Amber Davenport, and you’ve got a gift that keeps on giving long after the tree is down.
Decorations galore
Transforming a home for the festive season is one of my favourite parts of Christmas. Handcrafted decorations from talented artists like Nat Ellis, and scented soy candles are always on my list. They add warmth to the winter and a personal touch that shop-bought options just can’t match. Even better, when they’re made local – like these from Tamar Valley Candle Co.

Family Friendly & Fun
For the younger ones, a Fat Willy’s hoodie might just be the one – something practical, stylish, and perfect for chilly South West winter walks. And for those who love experiences, a meal out at a locally loved restaurant is always a winner. Well, it is for me anyway! A beautiful spot come rain or shine is The Crab Shed in Salcombe.
This Christmas, I’ve been reminded of why I love working with independent businesses: every product has a story, every gift is meaningful, and every purchase supports someone passionate about what they do.
So, whether you’re shopping for cocktails, cheese, calendars, candles, or something beautifully crafted and unique, I hope this list inspires your Christmas gift-giving. From my favourite client creations to your loved ones’ presents, let’s make this festive season full of thoughtful gifts, whilst supporting the independents!
